    POSITION SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Engineer (CNC Machining) will work to develop and maintain detailed manufacturing processes, CNC programs, work holding fixture designs, and all supporting documentation for lathe and mill machining.  This position requires detailed knowledge of conventional metal machining methods and tool selection to achieve desired geometries and tolerances.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Develop and document detailed production process plans.
    • Design work holding fixtures for CNC machining operations.
    • Select cutting techniques and tools with a focus on efficient metal removal.
    • Develop CNC programs for lathe and mill operations.
    • Create detailed machine setup and run instructions.
    • Support machinists throughout the manufacturing process.
    • Investigate and implement solutions for non-conforming products.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    To qualify for this position, an individual must possess the knowledge, training, experience and abilities required.

    Education and Training:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technology desired. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

     

    Experience:

    • Five years defining manufacturing processes for machining, including tool selection.
    • Five years designing work holding fixtures for CNC machining. 
    • Five years CNC programming for lathes and mills with advanced CAM Software.
    • Experience programming for 5-axis (simultaneous) milling desired.
    • Experience machining (or programming for) specialty metallurgies(duplex steels, high nickel alloys, titanium, etc.).
    • Proficiency reading engineering prints and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

     

    Other:

    • Overtime and off-shift production support may be required (occasional)
    • Minimal travel required (0-10%).
