    POSITION DETAILS

    • Position Title: Temporary Student Advising & Partner Relations Coordinator
    • Location: Remote, United States 
    • Type of Contract: Temporary
    • Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week
    • Anticipated Dates: November 2021 - May 2022 (With the possibility of extension to a permanent position).

    The Temporary Student Advising & Partner Relations Coordinator is a 6 month position responsible for working with Barcelona SAE's Advising team, and working with Barcelona SAE Partner Organizations. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively as a member of a team, but also from a remote home office, provide direction and strategy, and will possess strong organizational skills. The Temporary Student Advising & Partner Relations Coordinator reports to the Senior Director of U.S. Operations & Marketing. While this position is initially designed to just be temporary coverage for a current staff member, there is a strong possibility of extension to a permanent position if a good mutual fit is found and both parties agree.

    This position is part of a team of experienced professionals at Barcelona SAE who work collaboratively to provide the best study abroad, internship, and customized programs in Barcelona, and is a perfect fit for a driven, creative, and energetic young professional.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/knowledge
    • 1+ year of professional work or international experience
    • Outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills  
    • Highly organized with a impeccable attention to detail
    • Knowledge of U.S. university system and study abroad
    • Valid driver's license
    • Ability to thrive in a flexible environment
    • Ability to strategize, anticipate, and take initiative
    • Team player with a strong, individual work ethic
    • Cultural fit with Barcelona SAE's vision and core values
    • Foundational understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion best practices

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

    • 3+ years of professional work experience, preferably within the field of international education
    • Previous higher education experience
    • Advanced level of Spanish, or willingness to learn 
    • International study, intern, and/or volunteer experience, preferably in Barcelona or Spain

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    STUDENT ADVISING:

    • Coordinate the advising program for students pre-departure and act as the primary advisor for students and interns
    • Liaise with onsite Customized Programs team and other staff members
    • Liaise with partner institutions on Barcelona SAE processes
    • Answer student and parent queries and process applications
    • Manage student document needs
    • Convert students from applicant to participant
    • Manage all incoming student leads

    FINANCE:

    • Manage invoicing process for students
    • Liaise with finance team to ensure accuracy
    • Record payments from Stripe and bank transfers into QuickBooks

    PARTNER RELATIONS:

    • Act as a support contact for our third-party providers
    • Assist with the creation of best practices for sharing information
    • Collecting all student information and transferring to appropriate management tool
    • Update partners on any program changes

    UNIVERSITY RELATIONS:

    • Recruit students and interns through occasional select partner study abroad, career fairs and campus events

     

    MISCELLANEOUS:

    • Other duties as assigned
