    Reports to: District Manager / General Manager

    The primary responsibility of the Assistant General Manager is to set and achieve the highest standard in all areas of restaurant management which includes ensuring excellent guest service, team development, high quality foods, food safety, store cleanliness, and maximum profitability.

    • Summary of Key Responsibilities

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    Manage all restaurant operations including scheduling, planning and forecasting while upholding Bareburger standards, product quality and cleanliness

    Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events and manages smooth transitions thereafter to keep restaurant operating to standard and to set a positive example for the team members

    Displays a guest comes first attitude by training and holding team members accountable for delivering legendary guest service.

    Drives the implementation of company programs and specials

    Provides coaching and direction to the team members to take action and to achieve operational goals

    Update daily log along with keeping current with News and Discussions within Jostle and other platforms of communication

    Adhere to Federal, State and local laws in addition to Company policy (regulate compliance with work authorization/ liquor service/ wage and hour laws and, where applicable, break requirements), holds team members and managers accountable to these standards

    Ensures all certificates are up to date

    Responsible for compliance with OSHA, local health and safety codes as well as Company safety and security policies. Emphasize safety, sanitation and security awareness, and ensure that Team Members are properly trained to create safe situations

    Communicates clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective restaurant operations

    Uses all operational tools to plan for and achieve operational excellence in the restaurant. Tools include: Crunchtime, 365 Restaurant Accounting, Monthly Status Report, Quarterly Business Review, Cash Management and Inventory Management

    Set performance expectations and monitor training process to ensure quality of training.

    Utilizes management information tools and analyzes financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance

    Actively manages restaurant members by regularly conducting performance assessments, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve restaurant performance

    Challenges and inspires team members to achieve business results

    Develops and maintains positive relationships with team members by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs and concerns

    Utilizes and demonstrates effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful restaurant team resulting in an environment where team members are valued and respected

    • Requirements

    Must be at least 21 years of age

    Minimum of 2 years full service restaurant experience at a General Manager, Kitchen Manager or Assistant General Manager level required

    State and local alcohol enforcement, where applicable

    Relatable College Degree

    Passion for the business and compassion for people Highly-Energetic, self motivated, goal oriented and dependable

    Excellent oral and written communication skills, and outstanding leadership, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills

    Basic business math and accounting skills, and strong analytical/ decision-making skills

    Basic personal computer literacy

    Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays

    Must be willing to work 55 hours per week.

    Reliable transportation required

    Serv Safe Certified or local food handling certifications when applicable.

    • Additional Functions

    Perform all FOH/ BOH functions including food preparation, cooking, cleaning, serving and greeting guests

    Other duties as assigned by District Manager and Owners

    • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervise 30 to 50 FOH and BOH employees along with KM, Assistant manager and shift supervisors

    Bareburger is an “At-Will” employer. Employment with Bareburger is voluntarily entered into, and Manager is free to resign at will at any time. Similarly, Bareburger may terminate the employment relationship at will, without notice or cause, so long as there is no violation of applicable federal, state or local law. Unless set forth in a written contract and signed by the Owner, employment at the Restaurant is for no specific period of time, and any statement inconsistent with this at-will employment policy, whether in this Agreement or elsewhere, is unauthorized. General Manager acknowledges that Owners’ policies and guidelines in the Manager Manual, Employee Handbook or any other company produced document do not create contractual rights.

    It’s pretty simple: owners manage our best performing restaurants. What a great feeling of pride and accomplishment it is to own your own business

    We want to make that a reality for the right candidate

    We have sharpened our pencils and created an ownership plan that can make owning your own Bareburger a reality

    BB Group will match the equity contribution of the GM as a loan. Maximum buy in of 10% Equity. Match equity bringing total to 20%

    i.e. If GM Mary buys 5% of a Bareburger restaurant for $50,000, BB Group will lend Mary $50,000 and match her equity: 5%, bringing her total equity to 10%. GM Mary will be entitled to 10% profit share

    BB Group Loan will be paid back over 5 years @4% APR. Equity will fully vest at the end of year 5. In the event that manager is terminated or resigns, equity will vest at the time of event

    i.e. If GM relocates at the end of year 3, they would have gained 3%. Equity will be repurchased @5xEBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) to be resold to new owner/managers.

    BB Group will allow District Managers to also participate in ownership program. DM will be given opportunity to buy a maximum of 2.5% Equity in each restaurant they oversee. BB Group will match their investment.
