Title: Barista / Expo Runner
Reports to: General Manager/Chef/Restaurant Manager
Summary of Position:
We are seeking a skilled Barista & Expeditor to join our team. The desired candidate will be trained in two positions. When scheduled as Barista, this role is essential for creating high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. Additionally, when scheduled as Expo, this role will require all food tickets coming to the kitchen to be coordinated, food to be delivered to the guests, table maintenance on all indoor & outdoor tables, and maintaining the overall flow of service.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, a knack for customer interactions, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and the desire to learn coffee shop & restaurant operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Expo Runner:
Organize tickets coming from the kitchen so that tables are served their food in a timely manner.
Communicate with the Chef as to the timing of food for tickets.
Inspect all plates for proper presentation, garnish and cleanliness.
Ensure that all tickets are complete for each table so that the guests receive all items that they have ordered and requested.
Communicate with service staff when food orders are ready to be delivered to the guest.
Monitor tables so that guests receive food at the appropriate time of service.
Prepare and serve beverages from menu offerings.
Keep working area stocked with appropriate plateware, utensils and supplies needed for serving our guests.
Perform side work at the start, during and at the end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Barista:
Prepare and serve coffee and other beverages that meet high-quality standards.
Understand and implement different brewing methods, ingredients, and equipment to prepare tea and coffee drinks, such as espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, and other custom orders.
Engage with customers, take orders, and process payments while offering friendly and efficient service.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning tables, counters, and coffee machines.
Manage inventory of products and supplies to maintain stock levels and minimize waste.
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and customers.
Follow safety and sanitation rules and laws at all times
Always act in the best interest of the restaurant, fellow employees and guests.
Welcome and accept feedback and coaching from the management team in order to maintain and grow as an employee
Working Conditions and Expectations:
Ability to work early mornings & day-time shifts (breakfast/lunch), including weekends & holidays
Shifts will range from 4 - 8 hours and you may at times be asked to work overtime
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and keep up with the needs of the guests.
Work inside as well as outside dining areas.
Always act in a professional manner that represents the restaurant, owners, partners and staff.
Respectful to all guests that have chosen to dine in our restaurants.
Demonstrate teamwork in all areas of the restaurant
Work with a positive attitude in all types of situations
Food Handlers Certificate Required
Responsible Beverage Service Certification Required
Have working knowledge of the food menu
Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 10 – 20 pounds, and be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).

Hourly wage as follows: Barista - $19.00/hr plus tips
Expo Runner - $17.87/hr plus tips
