Position Summary

The Cashier/Barista at Epicure Cafe will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

Greet customers warmly and create a friendly, positive atmosphere.

Assist guests with menu selections, answer questions, and offer recommendations.

Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and promptly.

Operate the cash register/POS system accurately.

Process cash, card, and digital payments.

Maintain an organized and clean checkout area.

Prepare and serve coffee, tea, espresso-based beverages, and specialty drinks following café recipes.

Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other equipment safely.

Maintain consistency in drink quality, taste, and presentation.

Restock and rotate coffee beans, syrups, milk, and other ingredients.

Follow food safety and hygiene standards.

Restock display cases and ensure items look fresh and appealing.

Keep the café tidy, including tables, counters, equipment, and floors.

Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth service flow.

Assist with inventory checks and restocking supplies.

Follow café policies, safety guidelines, and operational standards.

Qualifications

Able to multi-task

Ability to stand for long period so time, lift 25 lbs., and bend, climb or work in confined spaces

Customer service focused and solution oriented

Basic math skills and Toast POS familiarity.

Must enjoy and be able to succeed in a fast-paced work environment

Ability to work a flexible schedule based on restaurant needs

Food handler's card may be required according to local and or state regulations
