    ABOUT. Barn2Door is a Seattle-based food+tech startup that helps local farms sell direct to buyers through all digital channels, including web, social and mobile. We exist to empower Farms who care about our planet.

    We are looking for people passionate about the intersection of food, agriculture and technology. At Barn2Door, you'll get to learn what it takes to build a startup business while also playing a critical role in our growth.  OVERVIEW. In this role as Design Intern, you'll be responsible for supporting the Design Team, and have an opportunity to participate in the Design Process inside a startup. You will learn the ins and outs of designing websites, collateral, brand and ad assets, and learn to incorporate design best practices in a digital environment (SEO, navigation, user experience). You will become familiar with the Design review process and observe customer engagement and feedback. A significant growth opportunity, you will interface across departments and with the executive team.

    YOU ARE:

    • A creative graphic designer that can develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts
    • Well-poised and eager to solicit feedback from multiple stakeholders (internal and external) on rough drafts and sketches prior to final production
    • Open to objective data and insights with respect to user interaction to inform improvements and changes to design outputs
    • A team player that can work well with copywriters, designers, product, sales and executives alike
    • Self-identified problem-solver, resourceful, humble - no task is too small 
    • A highly motivated, focused self-starter (this isn't a theory it's a must)
    • An excellent communicator with great listening skills
    • Willing to work with a high degree of independence in an organization that commands teamwork
    • Extremely comfortable in a fast growth startup environment

    YOU HAVE:

    • Work in progress (WIP) towards a graphic design, art / design, visual communications or related field
    • Some experience creating assets reflecting diverse skills, flair and versatility in concepts, ability and originality
    • Experience designing and developing websites and assets, using SquareSpace, WordPress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator or Canva
    • Ability to interact, communicate and present ideas
    • Bonus: food or farming domain knowledge

    YOU WILL:

    • Execute creative projects across many mediums and departments
    • Analyze and report on user interaction and user experience across Farmer websites and make recommendations for improvements
    • Be responsible for the Website Checklist, ensuring Farmers' websites, social channels and digital communications are performing at optimal levels
    • Create design assets for our Customers / Farmers including but not limited to websites, Facebook ads, promotional collateral, favicons and more.

    YOU GET:
