Job Title: Bartender

Position Summary:
The Bartender is responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, curating a refined beverage experience, and providing impeccable service to guests in the bar and dining areas. This role requires expert knowledge of spirits, wines, and cocktail techniques, along with a polished demeanor and strong attention to detail. The bartender ensures that all drinks are prepared with precision, consistency, and artistry, reflecting the restaurant’s elevated service standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Beverage Preparation & Service
Prepare and serve classic and contemporary cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Maintain expert knowledge of all bar and beverage menu items, including seasonal cocktails, wine selections, and featured spirits.
Provide gracious, personalized service to bar guests and support service for dining room orders.
Ensure all beverages are prepared quickly, accurately, and in accordance with fine dining service etiquette.
Guest Experience
Engage guests in a warm, professional manner, offering recommendations based on preferences and menu pairings.
Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, seamless service throughout the visit.
Handle guest concerns or complaints with discretion, professionalism, and prompt resolution.
Create an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere at the bar consistent with the restaurant’s brand.
Bar Operations & Cleanliness
Set up, stock, and maintain all bar stations before, during, and after service.
Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times.
Follow all sanitation, health, and safety guidelines, including proper storage and labeling of ingredients.
Conduct daily inventory of spirits, wine, beer, and mixers; assist with ordering and restocking as needed.
Teamwork & Communication
Collaborate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth beverage service across the restaurant.
Communicate effectively with management regarding inventory levels, guest preferences, and operational needs.
Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training on beverage programs, menu updates, and service standards.
Compliance & Standards
Adhere to all alcohol service laws and responsible beverage service policies.
Maintain complete knowledge of wine list, including regions, varietals, and pairing recommendations.
Ensure all transactions are processed accurately through the POS system.
Maintain professional appearance and behavior in line with fine dining standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2–3 years of bartending experience in a dining or upscale cocktail environment.
Deep knowledge of mixology, spirits, wine, and craft cocktail techniques.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for hospitality.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask under pressure.
Sommelier, mixology, or bar certification preferred (e.g., WSET, BarSmarts, or equivalent).
Must possess required state/local Food Handler’s and Alcohol Service (TIPS or equivalent) certifications.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours).
Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of bar tools and glassware.
Working Conditions:
Fast-paced, high-volume fine dining environment.
Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, temperature changes, and prolonged periods behind the bar.
