Job Title: Bartender
Job Summary: The Bartender is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring a clean and inviting bar area, and delivering a high-quality customer experience. This position requires excellent knowledge of drink recipes, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor. The Bartender works to create a positive atmosphere for guests while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and serve members/guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a welcoming atmosphere at the bar.
Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes or customer requests.
Take drink orders, suggest beverages based on customer preferences, and provide detailed information about drink ingredients and preparation.
Handle necessary charges, ensuring accurate billing and processing of payments.
Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including cleaning glasses, utensils, and equipment, and ensure all bar tools are properly stocked.
Monitor and maintain inventory levels for bar supplies and ingredients, notifying management when reordering is needed.
Ensure all liquor, beer, and wine is served responsibly, following company policies and state/local laws related to alcohol consumption.
Check identification of guests to verify legal drinking age and refuse service to any guests who are intoxicated or underage.
Interact with members/guests in a friendly and engaging manner, offering recommendations and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Assist in the preparation and service of bar snacks as needed.
Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner, escalating issues to management when necessary.
Ensure a safe and clean environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines, including food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
Assist with opening and closing the bar, including restocking, cleaning, and organizing the bar area.
Participate in training and development programs to stay updated on new drink trends, products, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of drink recipes, alcohol types, and bartending techniques.
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with guests.
Strong attention to detail, including the ability to handle cash and process payments accurately.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and perform physical tasks as required.
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food and beverage service.
TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification or other responsible beverage service training is a plus.
