Job Description

Bartko Zankel Bunzel & Miller is seeking an attorney with at least three years of experience in labor and employment law to join its diverse Labor and Employment Practice Group.  We offer a unique opportunity for attorneys who seek to broaden their employment practice as our matters include traditional labor negotiations and arbitrations, single plaintiff lawsuits, class actions and PAGA actions, and advice and regulatory compliance.  We are retained general employment counsel for numerous clients, and our practice is steadily growing.  Our clients operate are in a wide-range of industries including news media, healthcare, biotechnology and ski resorts, among others.  This is a great opportunity for an attorney who wants to one day transition into general counsel work or is entrepreneurial and wants to develop their own client base.

We are looking for someone who has experience with traditional litigation (depositions, dispositive motions), a good understanding of California wage-and-hour laws, and experience providing advice and counsel to corporate entities (i.e., handbooks, policy updates).  Any background in collective bargaining, unfair practice charges or labor arbitration hearings is a plus.   Candidates must possess strong research and writing skills, be able to prioritize assignments, and work collaboratively with other members of the Practice Group.
