Position Overview

D-BAT Virginia Beach is seeking qualified Baseball and Softball Instructors to provide private, small-group, clinic, and camp instruction.

We are looking for instructors who combine strong baseball or softball knowledge with professionalism, communication skills, reliability, and the ability to connect with athletes and families.

Candidates with experience in pitching, catching, hitting, and/or fielding instruction are encouraged to apply. Strong pitching and catching backgrounds may receive additional consideration based on current staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality individual and group baseball or softball instruction.

Teach proper fundamentals, mechanics, techniques, and game concepts appropriate to each athlete’s age and ability level.

Evaluate athletes and adjust instruction based on individual strengths, needs, and development goals.

Provide clear, constructive feedback and encouragement.

Communicate professionally with athletes, parents, coworkers, and management.

Maintain a positive, organized, and supportive training environment.

Develop strong relationships with athletes and families through consistent instruction and customer service.

Maintain professional standards while representing D-BAT Virginia Beach.

Follow company policies regarding scheduling, attendance, dress, safety, and facility procedures.

Participate in clinics, camps, and other instructional programming as scheduled.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

Atleast 2 years college baseball or softball playing experience, significant coaching experience, or comparable instructional experience.

Strong knowledge of baseball or softball fundamentals and player development.

The ability to teach concepts clearly to athletes of different ages and experience levels.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Professionalism, dependability, and strong time-management skills.

The ability to motivate, encourage, and build confidence in young athletes.

Availability to work evenings and/or weekends.

First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.

Professional Expectations

D-BAT Virginia Beach instructors are expected to represent the organization professionally both inside the facility and when conducting themselves as a member of the D-BAT team.

Employees are expected to maintain appropriate athletic attire and professional appearance while working or representing the facility.

Reliable attendance and punctuality are also essential to the position due to the scheduled nature of lessons, clinics, camps, and customer appointments.

Compensation

Competitive hourly compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Eligibility for a performance-based instructor bonus program.

D-BAT Virginia Beach currently offers instructor bonuses based on qualifying lesson hours worked during each biweekly pay period.

Specific compensation and bonus eligibility will be reviewed with selected candidates during the hiring process.
