Job Description

Lamar Johnson Collaborative is the design division of Clayco, a fully integrated Design-Build firm. This position is with the Advance Strategies group, which offers pre-design services in Real Estate Strategy, Facility Planning, Workplace Strategy and Change Engagement. Assignments may include all aspects of our projects, such as conducting research, documenting existing conditions, space needs analysis and forecasting, occupancy strategy recommendations, and production of deliverables. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, enjoy a fast-paced team environment, communicate well, and have great follow-through skills.  Responsibilities:

• Major role in client contact and management of projects across many markets (Corporate, Government, Healthcare, Higher Ed, Science & Technology)
• Developing plans and strategies for major initiatives such as master plans, facility renovations and new construction
• Working with other facilities and planning professionals to understand the physical planning needs of users and stakeholders, in order to make informed master plans, facility investments and space planning decisions
• Developing budgets and schedules for implementing major initiatives
• Conceiving and creating presentations, reports and deliverables
• Conducting research on project specific data, industry best practices and trends. Skills & Qualifications:
• Good verbal, written and graphic communication skills
• Strong problem solving and time management skills
• Detail and results-oriented with a sense of urgency
• Self-starter - comfortable working independently and uses discretion when needed
• Team player - effective and contributor in a collaborative team-oriented environment
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) programs
• Desirable: Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and with drawing programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp; Working knowledge of GIS (e.g. QGIS, OSM, ArcGIS). Requirements:
• 5-7 years of related work experience
• Bachelor’s Degree – preferably  Design related (Architecture, Interior Design, Planning and Urban Design)
• Travel is anticipated to be up to 25% for this position and is based on project requirements, timing is mutually agreed upon and advance notice is always provided.
