What You'll Do: The Shipping & Logistics Supervisor will be responsible for the daily supervision of loading dock associates, the shipping and receiving of product at the loading dock, traffic control, associated record keeping and maintaining loading dock safety, organization and cleanliness during peak production. Daily tasks will include managing the load list, coordinating order preparation, ensuring proper case labeling and Bill of Lading completeness. The Shipping & Logistics Supervisor will oversee checking in all arriving trucks, managing proper loading by verifying all product is within BBP specifications, packed and labeled properly, as well as securely loaded. The Shipping & Logistics Supervisor is expected to understand and adhere to all product traceability protocols, PrimusGFS Food Safety regulations and all applicable OSHA, GMP, GAP and L&I regulations regarding daily work duties. Outside of peak production times the Shipping & Logistics Supervisor will assist the Sales Team in establishing and maintaining client relationships to promote sales. This position will assist in the monitoring of online sales portals and the management of UPC, GTIN and case label requirements per customer specifications. Travel may be required to attend tradeshows and pursue networking opportunities in the fresh produce markets. Experience Desired: We are looking for a candidate with a thorough understanding of trucking and transportation scheduling/regulations, shipping/receiving procedures and warehouse operations. Experience in agriculture, produce sales or brokerage is an ideal background. This candidate should possess strong organizational, problem-solving and negotiation skills as well as written and oral communication skills. Experience in a supervisory or managerial role is preferred as well as experience with warehouse traceability software (Famous, Sage, Datatech, etc.). The position requires standing for long periods of time and the ability to lift 50 pounds consistently. The ability to speak Spanish fluently is not required, but certainly a plus!
