    Job Description

    POSITION TITLE: DRUPAL DEVELOPER

    LOCATION: UCLA

    JOB: ONE YEAR CONTRACT; MEDICAL, DENTAL, VISION BENEFITS.

    PAY RATE: $62.00

    SUMMARY

    As a consultant on the Communications & Content team, the Web Developer will conduct analysis, design, programming and deployment of custom web sites for campus customers built upon the Drupal platform. The Web Developer collaborates with customers to define functional requirements, user interface design and development, technical specifications, programming, module creation, testing, integration with other applications and APIs, deployment, and ongoing enhancements or maintenance. The Web Developer is also responsible for developing front-end templates, theme development, prototypes, site configuration, module creation and modification. Additional responsibilities include project planning, coordination with IT Services technical specialists, writing technical and functional documentation, and debugging analysis and research, and using API management tools. Partners with the Lead Web Developer on large, complex assignments and projects. May provide after-hours support as needed or assigned.

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Three or more years of experience with user interface programming and front-end development techniques and languages, including HTML, Sass, CSS, Javascript, Media queries, Flexbox. (Required)
    •  Experience with front end frameworks and grid systems such as Bootstrap or Foundation. (Preferred)
    •  DEMONSTRATED EXPERIENCE DEVELOPING MODULES AND THEMES FOR THE DRUPAL PLATFORM (V7/8). (REQUIRED)
    •  Experience with templating languages such as Twig and Mustache. (Required)
    •  Familiarity with pattern library tools such as PatternLab or Fractal. (Preferred)
    •  Experience with Javascript libraries such as React, Angular, VueJS. (Preferred)
    •  Ability to effectively design programs to ensure optimal performance and usability; ability to conduct application/program analysis to improve performance and responsiveness. (Preferred)
    •  Possess the verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization; ability to use standard English grammar and punctuation. (Required)

     Experience with web hosting and networking concepts such as SSL and DNS configuration. (Preferred)

    •  Experience with the Git version control tool and development workflows using Github or Bitbucket. (Preferred)
    •  Familiarity with package managers and bundling tools such as Composer, NPM, or Webpack. (Preferred)
    •  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering (or similar) OR combination of relevant professional experience and education. (Preferred)
    •  Knowledge of test-driven development and automated test frameworks (CircleCI, ProboCI, Jenkins) (Preferred).
