The local podcast host/reporter is responsible for hosting WBUR's local newsroom podcast, Consider This Boston. They play a leading role in the daily creation and execution of the show, working with a highly-collaborative team to set the daily editorial direction of each episode. The role involves preproduction, scripting, taping, and audio editing, all on quick deadlines to meet the production pace of a daily local news podcast. The role is also responsible for the shows presence and audience engagement on social, wbur.org and other current and future platforms. The podcast host/reporter will also report stories for the newsroom, developing and pitching story ideas and receiving assignments from news editors.

Essential Functions:

• Participate in daily editorial meetings and make decisions regarding story selection, treatment, sound elements, and future planning
• Collaborate with colleagues on scripting, production, recording, editing and distribution of the daily podcast
• Work with newsroom and other department leaders on establishing the editorial strategy and evolution of the show
• Report stories for the local newsroom's broadcast and digital audiences. Pitch story ideas and execute assignments based on newsroom's daily editorial needs

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or relevant experience required
• At least three years of related work experience required
