ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design Engineers need to work closely with lead engineers to modify/generate product designs and documentation associated with ongoing product support (e.g. engineering changes), cost reduction, and manufacturing of air brake products to achieve the technical, individual and business objectives.
Must be able to manage engineering changes which include creation/revision of part numbers, 3-D models, 2D drawings, and BOM’s. Able to release documents within a PDM system.
Perform tolerance stack analysis (which might include GD&T analysis) and check layouts; design components (castings, machining, and injection molded plastic) and assemblies for manufacturing.
Able to provide key input data to DFMEA.
Support product safety activities and manage the procedures with team members while performing product design actions
