  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY

     Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment

     

    • Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
    • Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
    • Direct workers engaged in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.
    • Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
    • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties.
    • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
    • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.
    • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    • Confer with other departments to coordinate activities or repairs.
    • Perform activities of workers supervised.
    • Daily inspections and repairs of cooling fans, belts, and electrical.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on solenoid vales, shutoff valves, and regulators.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on Makeup Units.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on Refrigerated Makeup Air Units and hanging Evaporators.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Required Skills

    • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
    • One-year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience/training.
    • Abilities to troubleshoot electrical and various processes throughout the facility.
    • Knowledge of the refrigeration layout and locations throughout the facility.
    • Three to five years of Maintenance experience in food processing facility.
    • Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to temperatures of cold and warm along with wearing the proper PPE, with standard office equipment available along with plant manufacturing environment.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, bend, walk, use hands or finger, talk, hear, feel objects, tools, or controls; may be required to lift up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close vision to a computer screen.
