    Job Description

    BeVera Solutions is seeking a Health Scientist to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in transforming the future of technology and public health. This position will be located in Atlanta, GA and will become part of BeVera’s team that supports the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s, One Health Office.  One Health is a collaborative and multisectoral approach recognizing the interconnectedness of humans, animals and the environment. Changes in the interactions between people, animals and the environment have led to a greater focus on One Health work. These changes have also led to a geographical spread in known zoonotic diseases (diseases spread between animals and people) or the emergence of new zoonotic diseases like COVID-19. 

    The qualified applicant should have knowledge of CDC budget, contract and grant management processes.

    ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assisting with budget, contracts and cooperative agreement management for One Health COVID-19 and other zoonotic disease activities with domestic and/or global partners
    • Maintaining accurate records of process-specific objectives, timelines, outcomes, and deliverables from contracts and cooperative agreements with COVID-19 and other One Health funding
    • Communicate and convene meetings with federal and non-federal partners
    • Support the development of extramural agreements such as interagency agreements, cooperative agreements and contracts
    • Participate in One Health meetings and calls and other duties as assigned to support One Health needs relevant to COVID-19 as well as pandemic preparedness

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree, from an accredited academic institution, in scientific, technical or public health-related discipline related to the responsibilities of the position required
    • Previous CDC experience with contracts, grants and budgets
    • Previous extensive experience working with public health programs focused on infectious diseases
    • Experience with public health program management
    • Experience communicating through presentations and written reports to executive management.  
    • Organizational skills demonstrating high attention to detail and the ability to organize multiple priorities

    DESIRABLE:

    • Master’s degree in technical, administrative or public health-related discipline related to the responsibilities of the position
    • A minimum of 4 years of experience in the development, implementation and management of contracts and budgets
    • Experience performing data analysis, developing technical reports, recommendations, and communications related to public health outreach efforts
    • Strong interpersonal skills required for teamwork and interaction with partners
    • Ability to work independently, while maintaining the ability to respond to requests for additional support
    • Experience working with state and local health departments and other partners in a capacity related to the responsibilities of the position.
    • Experience writing project reports, research protocols, peer-reviewed manuscripts and giving presentations
    • Expertise in project management tools and software, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, notes, and SAS or similar statistical tools

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    • The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English

    REQUIREMENT:

    • Must be United States citizen or permanent resident or have authorization for employment in the United States

    SALARY: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
