    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY                                                                                      

    The Technical Product Manager (TPM) will be responsible for strategy, planning, and execution throughout the product lifecycle. They will lead a team whose responsibilities include stakeholder management, defining the product vision, and providing leadership to cross functional teams (product, engineering, operations) to deliver solutions. Additionally, the TPM will manage cross-functional projects and ensure efficient project execution by monitoring project performance, roadmap updates, and status communications and reporting on projects.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Proactively manage feature lifecycles from strategic planning to product release and iteration.
    • Work closely with other teams, Product Managers, and Designers to build concepts and requirements.
    • Identify our customers' needs and opportunities through data analysis, interviews, and research through quantitative and qualitative methods.
    • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define and manage a feature roadmap that will drive key metrics.
    • Anticipate bottlenecks and dependencies, provide support for escalation management, make tradeoffs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
    • Function as the Product Owner for an Agile Scrum development team to define, deliver, build, and iterate on capabilities.

    • Lead the development of customer-focused product vision.
    • Interact with key stakeholders to define the metrics, measurements, and tools to quantify business goals.
    • Define and manage near-term and long-term product roadmaps, managing trade-offs and competing priorities.
    • Develop the user experience, goals, stories and requirements that will be used to create product specifications.
    • Communicate (both verbally and in writing) program successes, failures, lessons learned, and mitigations plans to stakeholders.
    • Responsible for the full product lifecycle, from gathering requirements, prioritizing features, analyzing competitive landscape, writing plans and specifications, achieving stakeholder alignment, and owning the team roadmap.
    • Define how we will measure the success and effectiveness of products and track quality.
    • Define our vision by understanding our customers' needs. Partner closely with Product and Engineering leaders for continued improvements and identify patterns of need.
    • Get commitments from internal and external customers and achieve roadmap alignment.
    • Collaborate closely with other technical leaders and across disciplines to drive standard methodologies and positive team culture.
    • Continuously review and refine solutions produced by Engineering and Operations to best fit evolving business needs.
    • Develop metrics and analytics to evaluate the success of products or new features of our products.
    • Continually prioritize work by communicating critical milestones deconstructing features into discrete tasks and focusing on results.
    • Participate in ongoing internal business analysis to understand landscape, positioning, and feature set, as needed.
    • Communicate and influence with or without authority, facilitate groups with diverse perspectives, bring teams to alignment.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong software product management experience.
    • Strong technical background with a passion for breaking down challenging problems and driving value.
    • Progressive thinking paired with strong execution.
    • Comfortable with various data sets and web technologies.
    • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products/features.
    • Ability to build wireframes, product specifications, and white papers.
    • Strong project management skills and ability to present work to executive staff.
    • Experience with growing a product using lean, data driven principles.
    • Some familiarity with source control, operating systems (basic Linux commands, etc.), data analytics, and SQL experience preferred.
    • Outstanding written/oral, organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
    • Must be a self-starter, a team player and driven.
    • Previous start-up and/or consulting experience is a strong plus.
    • Familiarity with Compliance / Regulatory requirements a plus.
    • Proficient in MS-Office, Visio, Work Breakdown tools and software (MS Project & Azure DevOps a plus).
    • Experience in the practical implementation of regulatory requirements for medical device development such as FDA’s Design Controls, ISO’s Risk Management, and Medical Device standards, ISO Software Development standards, CLIA.
    • Ability to work on a virtual team.
    • Experienced in Agile and Scaled Agile methodology.
    • Experience with leading product development system projects having multiple components such as software, hardware, assay, human factors, highly desired.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
    • Requires at least 2+ years of technical product management experience in the IVD or medical device industry.
