    Reports To: Head of Mechanical Engineering

    Job Overview: 

    We are searching for a driven, detail-orientated engineering technician to join our growing organization. The engineering technician's responsibilities include building prototypes, inspecting parts, ensuring the site/lab is safe and clean, and providing customer support. You should be able to troubleshoot equipment, communicate effectively under pressure, and provide effective suggestions for improvement.

    To be successful as an engineering technician, you should demonstrate a sound understanding of engineering terminology, and be able to work well in a team. Outstanding engineering technicians are self-starters with an insatiable curiosity, a superb work ethic, and strong interpersonal skills.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Work with hardware and software engineering teams to  define and conduct product validation testing
    • Assemble and build mechanical and electrical systems using hand and power tools
    • Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems during a product build or test
    • Suggest ideas for design and assembly improvement
    • Write reports and documents for testing results
    • Manage equipment, tools, and inventory
    • Calibrate test equipment
    • Build electrical wiring harnesses with various connectors
    • Lift and move heavy objects
    • Purchase supplies for shop/lab

    Qualifications:

    • Team player who is able to juggle multiple high priority tasks at once
    • Hands-on mechanical/electrical assembly build experience
    • Communicates clearly and effectively
    • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity
    • A willingness to learn and work overtime when required
    • 5S experience 
    • Experience with reading mechanical drawings and assemblies as well as wiring schematics
    • Linux experience preferred
    • Experience with Solidworks preferred
    • Provides suggestions for ways to improve products and equipment
    • Able to lift and move heavy objects
