Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensures the day-to-day tasks of Safety, Sanitation, and cGMP's rules are being followed throughout the plant.
• Responsible for conducting pre-operational and operational checks for start-ups and production during the day
• Responsible for filling out inspection sheets on each product being produced
• Responsible for performing checks and documenting results for the following: Scales, Thermometers, Freezer and Cooler Temperatures, Machines, and Areas needing cleaning.
• Reviews Quality Assurance paperwork on Metal Detectors, Production Scaling, and Packaging as needed
• Responsible for documenting all lot codes
• Assists in taking APC swab samples from throughout the plant following the location map
• Responsible for the presentation of programs to maintain ongoing training of all plant employees in policies and programs such as cGMPs, HACCP, SSOP's and Allergen Policy
• Informs management of significant issues and/or developments identified during quality assurance activities and actions being taken to improve the situation
• Responsible performing in-plant process inspections and area audits as required by established plant auditing program
• Notifies maintenance and/or upper management of safety or equipment problems
• Other duties as needed.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Responsible for reporting any food safety issues to your supervisor or management staff promptly
• Knowledge of the products manufactured in BEAR STEWART.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  1. Including Bear Stewart Company's Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's)
  2. Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  3. Knowledge of Color Coding Policies
• Knowledge of Labeling software and Nutricoaster
• Ability to use various machines
• Experience with plant inspections, including Third Party Audits (i.e., Silliker), City, State, and Federal inspections, and internal audits
• Good communication skills to deliver valuable teamwork
• Able to follow and execute instructions.
• Accurate, patient, careful, responsible, quick, and alert.
