    About the Job:

    Our passionate team is looking to hire a motivated and talented Lead Fullstack or Back End Engineer who will raise the bar for our team by helping us create innovative products for our customers. Ideal candidates have a track record of Efficient and Focused Software Development Cycle Leadership, and an experienced background in Python, REST API development, writing highly scalable code, databases, and containerized micro-services.

     

    This is a highly impactful role on a growing agile team.

     

    This role requires eligibility to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship. Ideally, this role will be located in Denver, Colorado, or other locations where Beatport has offices, including Berlin and Los Angeles. However, the right Lead Engineer can be purely remote from anywhere in a US-based timezone.

     

    You will have:

    • A successful and demonstrable history of managing engineering teams
    • An interest in growing your career at a company that is evolving and disrupting the dance music industry
    • Solid system and software architecture experience with highly reliable distributed systems
    • A track record of building teams and coaching engineers on technical concepts and software process
    • Repeat success in delivering high quality, robust software solutions to competitive markets
    • Cross-functional savviness that enables cohesive progress across departments
    • An intuitive ability to identify and foresee risks, effectively communicate those risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and provide mitigation options or alternative designs or approaches
    • Demonstrable proficiency with Python with a dedication to designing and writing clean, understandable and testable code
    • Mastery of at least one web framework such as React, Django, Flask, Angular
    • Extensive experience building scalable public APIs and a deep understanding of REST
    • A passion for building great products for customers

     

    You are:

    • A proven Python developer with experience in a production-level environment
    • Enthusiastic about managing and improving engineers
    • An effective communicator that can positively contribute to shaping the culture of software teams
    • Continuously improving software engineering practices
    • An inspired, problem solver with a tremendous thirst for learning and delivering software solutions
    • Confident in being held accountable for the progress and productivity of technical teams

     

    You’d make an even more effective team member if you are:

    • Experienced with databases, and the performance/cost tradeoffs of each
    • Experienced and/or highly interested in machine learning and AI technologies that directly connect to business strategies and user experience
    • Experienced and/or highly interested in embedded software and building SDKs to enable partners
    • Passionate about electronic music and culture
    • A former technical lead in a similar role for an entertainment / media / music company
