Description

The accountant/financial analyst position will be in the development sector, reporting to the Controller and CFO. They will be responsible for performing assigned tasks to include month-end close, preparation of project draw requests to funding entities, preparation and analysis of consolidated financial reports and budgets, completing complex financial analysis, modeling, and valuation related to ongoing real estate development projects, as well as assist with day-to-day activities of the accounting department.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and review of development budgets.
• Construction loan management and reporting, including draw requests.
• Process AP and treasury management for each project.
• Financial analysis of development projects, as well as operating properties.
• Assists in creating diverse financial models and valuations.
• Assists with audit and tax reporting.
• Produces reports, including cash flow projections and associated sensitivity analyses.
• Review JV, loan, and lease agreements for understanding.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for management. Work closely with development and property management team members.

Qualifications

· 2-4 years of accounting experience with public and/or real estate accounting a plus.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word), with knowledge of the Yardi Systems and Procore a plus.

· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

· Attention to detail and ability to learn quickly.

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Strong personality and the maturity to interact with management.

· Operate under the highest ethics and trustworthiness.

Education

BA Degree in accounting or finance. Maryland CPA certificate a plus. An understanding of real estate development accounting and tax principles required, with commercial property management accounting is preferable.

This is an in the office position with some remote work opportunities.
