The Inventory Accountant is responsible for implementing cost accounting methods and activities. Create and maintain control systems for inventory accuracy, own financial reporting and analysis. Manage month end close for our 3PL and Retail stores. Monitor inventory transactions, perform monthly reconciliations, oversee weekly cycle counts and lead year end physical inventories.
This position will report to the Director of Inventory while working closely with internal and external partners to ensure the highest level of inventory accuracy/integrity for raw materials WIP and finished goods.
REQUIREMENTS:
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
Inventory Accounting and Control:
Work with Manufacturing and Fulfillment to plan and conduct physical inventoriesReconcile physical inventories to SAP systems
Monitor and audit global 3PL cycle count programs
Coordinate weekly cycle counts and analyze inventory variances prior to making adjustments
Perform 3PL inventory reconciliations
Analyze excess and obsolete inventory and work with appropriate teams to manage waste
Monitor GR/IR in SAP to ensure 3 way match of purchase orders, material receipts, and invoices
Assist with overall inventory control to maximize available space at our 3PL’s
Reporting and Analysis:
Validate GAAP and non-GAAP P&L results by performing detailed analysis of ‘cost of sales’ and related functional areas
Support Product/Customer margin analysis by reviewing, correcting and reconciling SAP transactions that drive detailed corporate and business unit P&L reporting.
Support the analysis of variance incurred during production and purchasing activities by comparing the basis for standard cost (info records, overhead rates from costing sheets)
Business Process:
Ensure timely completion of month-end process for settlement of production orders, receipts and inventory levels
Perform allocations on a monthly basis and ensure the results correctly reflect allocation logic
Support the process of updating standard costs
