    Metals Key Account Manager
    Remote. Travel: 50% local travel of the Greater Chicago area.

    Exceptional company on a strong growth track, looking to add a Metals Key Account Manager to their Chicago location.

    This is one of the largest independently-owned companies in the overhead lifting and rigging industries and is a manufacturer and distributor of a wide range of lifting products for industrial, commercial and specialty applications. Some of the major markets they serve are Steel, Construction, Energy, Vehicle and Durable Goods, Ship Building / Repair, and Mining.

    Purpose:

    As the Metals Key Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our business within the Hot Metal Handling and Processing sector. Your primary responsibility will be to drive high growth targets by cultivating existing customer relationships and acquiring new accounts. Drawing on your expertise in the metals market and your tenacity, you will lead negotiations and collaborate with key team members across various business units.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the subject matter expert for sales and marketing efforts within the company's Metals Team.
    • Establish trust and credibility as a trusted advisor to steel producers, aluminum mills, and key prospects.
    • Nurture and expand an established national customer base throughout the entire customer lifecycle.
    • Identify high-potential growth targets, focusing on opportunities with annual incremental sales exceeding $100,000.
    • Promote and sell our full range of products and services, enhancing product knowledge and brand awareness among retail and corporate accounts.
    • Develop effective sales plans and business strategies to consistently meet monthly sales goals.
    • Propose innovative solutions that address the specific needs of customers.
    • Negotiate master service agreements in alignment with company’s commercial margin expectations.
    • Embrace and implement the "They Ask, You Answer" methodology to enhance customer engagement and satisfaction.
    • Perform any other associated duties as directed or required.

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a focus in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Economics, Marketing, or a related discipline; or
    • In lieu of a degree, extensive experience in industrial sales, coupled with demonstrated knowledge

    Requirements:

    • 10+ years of account sales management experience in the metals segment, distribution, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated ability to consistently achieve time-bound results that surpass established product sales goals.
    • Strong communication and selling skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of an organization.
    • Proven track record of building and maintaining effective customer relationships.
    • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills.
    • Proficiency in mathematics and technology.
    • Possession of a valid driver’s license and a safety record that meets company requirements.
    • Ability to lift/pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
