Litigation Associate Attorney

Location: San Jose or Monterey

Background:

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with a focus on civil litigation, including probate (excluding family law). The ideal candidate should have around 4-8 years of relevant experience, demonstrating the ability to handle litigation tasks independently, from drafting and arguing motions to handling complex cases. Our firm operates at a sophisticated level, working on high-touch cases involving millions of dollars. This exciting opportunity allows the attorney to try cases.

Position:

• Conduct litigation, including depositions, trials, and appeals.
• Draft and handle motions, ensuring excellent writing and advocacy skills.
• Systematically analyze complicated sets of facts and operate computer systems effectively.
• Manage calendaring and file sharing efficiently.
• Operate at a national level with motivation and autonomy.
• Mentorship and collaboration with paralegal staff.
• Handle tasks and projects with minimal supervision.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong experience in drafting motions and handling complex cases.
• Familiarity with calendaring and file-sharing systems.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent writing and advocacy skills.
• Motivated to work at a national level.
• Ability to handle high-touch cases with professionalism.

Compensation:

• Competitive base salary.
• Discretionary bonus.
• 10% commission on attorney fees collected for cases brought in by the attorney.
