    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Attend to the individual needs of residents which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, colostomy care, and other needs as required
    • Observe residents for changes in condition or behavior and promptly report these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel
    • Provide care that maintains each resident’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents
    • Answer residents' call bells promptly and courteously
    • Perform various tasks assigned by the charge nurse including taking vital signs, recording weight, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc.
    • Assist with orienting residents and their families to the nursing home upon admission and if/when unit transfers occur
    • Lift, move, and transport residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention
    • Participate in the orientation and education of personnel and students
    • Demonstrate ability to prioritize tasks/responsibilities and complete duties within the allotted time

     

    Requirements

    SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Successful completion of WI state-approved Nursing Assistant Certification course, or other education which meets WI state certification requirements
    • CNA certification must be active and in good standing in Wisconsin
    • 2+ years of acute care or rehabilitation experience as a CNA preferred
    • Current CPR certification preferred
    • Willing to work weekends (rotating)
    • Good working knowledge of geriatric care
    • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with the team, patients, and their families
