Behavior focused Group home. Clients require behavior support to prevent and extinguish negative behaviors. Clients can become physically aggressive.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Behavioral Support
Implement individualized Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) and teaching protocols as written
Utilize positive behavior support strategies and evidence-based interventions
Collect accurate data on behaviors, skill acquisition, and incidents
Monitor triggers, antecedents, and environmental factors affecting behavior
Respond appropriately to maladaptive behaviors using approved techniques
Participate in behavior plan reviews and team meetings
Direct Care & Skill Building
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
Support development of communication, social, coping, and daily living skills
Encourage independence and self-advocacy
Provide structure and consistency in daily routines
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure the health and safety of all residents at all times
Follow HIPAA, APD, Medicaid, and agency policies and procedures
Implement crisis prevention and de-escalation techniques
Properly document incidents, restraints (if applicable), and injuries
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment
Documentation & Communication
Complete daily notes, data sheets, and incident reports accurately and timely
Communicate effectively with supervisors, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members
Report changes in behavior, health status, or environmental concerns immediately
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
Required
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 18 years of age
Ability to pass Level 2 background screening
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain)
Completion of required agency and APD training
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Preferred
Experience working with individuals with IDD, autism, or behavioral challenges
RBT certification or enrollment in RBT training program
Experience in group home or residential settings
Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds
Ability to respond quickly in emergency or behavioral crisis situations
Ability to work varying shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
