    BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COUNSELOR

    Community Psychiatric Institute has been a dedicated and committed leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Substance Abuse treatment in Essex County for over 54 years. We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Mental Health Counselor to join our team serving individuals with chronic mental illness.     Responsibilities include:

     Provide supportive group and individual counseling in our outpatient setting.  Perform timely records documentation utilizing an EHR including progress notes and treatment plans.  Collaborate as a part of our multidisciplinary team to provide person centered mental health services.  Work collaboratively with program participants, their families, and community partners to assist in achieving client's treatment goals.

    Requirements:

     Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related field of study.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    The ideal candidate for the position will have previous experience working with individuals with mental health or co-occurring disorders and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.

    Pay range: $41,600 to $52,000 annually based on experience
