BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CREATIVE ARTS COUNSELOR

Community Psychiatric Institute, a leader in Behavioral Healthcare and Chemical Dependency treatment for over 54 years in Essex County, has an opening for a Full-time Counselor in our Partial Care program. We are seeking a candidate with a background in recreational or creative arts to assist with engaging clients in a therapeutic day treatment setting. The ideal applicant will have a passion for working with individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse disorders.

Responsibilities include:

 Maintain an active caseload in our Partial Care program, providing group counseling.

 Performing timely medical records documentation including weekly progress notes and treatment plans.

 Work as a part of our Multidisciplinary Team providing direct care to patients.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mental health/counseling related field.
• Experience working with mental health & substance abuse populations.
• Creative Arts or Recreational Arts background.
• Excellent time management & organizational skills.
• Strong communication and engagement skills.
