  • Responsibilities

    As a Behavioral Health Technician Lead specializing in addiction medicine, you will oversee and support a team of Behavioral Health Technicians in delivering compassionate, structured care to individuals in detox and residential treatment. This leadership role combines hands-on client interaction with staff supervision and operational coordination. Your guidance and clinical support will help ensure patients receive consistent, high-quality care throughout their recovery journey.

    Responsibilities

    Supervise and mentor Behavioral Health Technicians to ensure proper adherence to treatment protocols, facility policies, and client care standards

    Coordinate daily schedules, assign shifts, and manage team coverage to meet operational needs

    Lead regular team check-ins, training sessions, and performance evaluations

    Provide direct assistance in complex or high-risk situations, including behavioral incidents or medical emergencies

    Support clinical alignment by communicating with nurses, therapists, and case managers regarding client care and program needs

    Assist in onboarding and training new team members in addiction recovery practices and safety procedures

    Monitor overall program performance and participate in quality improvement initiatives

    Ensure accurate and timely documentation of shift activities, incidents, and client observations

    Qualifications

    High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or a related field preferred

    At least 2 years of experience in addiction treatment or mental health care, with prior leadership experience strongly preferred

    CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

    Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations

    Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills

    Passion for supporting individuals in recovery

    Requirements:

    Certified as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or equivalent from the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board

    Prior supervisory experience in a behavioral health or addiction medicine setting.
