About the Role:
Sober Haven Recovery in Woodland Hills, CA is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT-RADT) to join our passionate team of recovery professionals. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals on their journey to sobriety and lasting wellness. AT LEAST 1 YEAR EXPERIENCE, DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DONT HAVE PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORKING AS A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TECH.
Responsibilities:
Monitor and support clients in a residential or outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment setting
Conduct regular client check-ins, observations, and document behavioral and clinical progress
Assist in facilitating group sessions, psychoeducation activities, and daily structured programming
Administer and document drug and alcohol screenings (UA/breathalyzer) in accordance with RADT protocols
Respond to client crises using de-escalation techniques and follow established safety procedures
Collaborate with clinical and medical staff to ensure continuity of individualized care plans
Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment for all clients and staff
Requirements:
Active RADT (Registered Alcohol and Drug Technician) certification required
BHT certification or equivalent behavioral health training preferred
Prior experience in a substance use disorder, mental health, or residential treatment setting
Strong knowledge of addiction recovery principles, 12-step programs, and trauma-informed care
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Excellent communication, documentation, and de-escalation skills
Empathetic, patient, and professional demeanor with a genuine passion for helping others
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, or overnight as needed
