Position Overview
Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) provide direct support services to individuals receiving substance use and/or mental health treatment. This role requires consistent supervision, observation, documentation, and client interaction to ensure a safe, supportive, and structured environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Facilitate and assist with groups and client interactions while completing daily counseling notes
Observe, monitor, and document client behavior and overall well-being
Report client progress, concerns, and incidents to clinical and administrative staff
Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment at all times
Provide emotional support and de-escalation as needed
Alert medical or clinical professionals during emergencies
Complete required assessments, logs, and administrative documentation
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies
Monitor medication administration and documentation as required
Transport clients in a large passenger van to approved activities and appointments outside the facility
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to treat clients with dignity, respect, and empathy
Strong verbal communication and active listening skills
Excellent observation and situational awareness
Comfortable using computers and mobile applications
Willingness and ability to learn documentation standards, including EHR systems and counseling notes
Prior experience in behavioral health, mental health, or residential treatment settings is a plus, but not required
