PRO Pediatric Services is seeking exceptional Behavioral Health Workers to provide services within a local intermediate unit.
Job Details:
- Location: Sayre, PA
- Schedule: Full-time, M-F, during normal school hours. 7.5 hours per day beginning around 7:30am-8am
- Caseload: K-6
- Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Services and experience working with children with behavioral challenges. Previous experience as a Behavioral Health Worker is highly preferred.
- General Responsibilities: Behavioral Health Workers provide behavior support to all students within the classroom, support individual behavioral plans and interventions, run daily social-emotional groups, provide direct behavioral instruction, and model appropriate behavior for students.

Job Description:
The ESS Behavioral Health worker will perform direct treatment in a supportive role within the BLaST Intermediate Unit classrooms to meet individualized behavioral and academic needs of the students. Position is to assist the teacher with instructional and non-instructional activities necessary for the implementation of a functional class environment that enhances student learning and achievement. Under the direction and supervision of the certified classroom teacher, principal or other designated certified personnel, assists faculty members in the instruction of students and in facilitating learning activities so that the established curriculum goals are attained.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the instructor in implementing classroom procedures: including preparing materials, progress monitoring, grading, and monitoring students.
- Conduct behavioral modification under the direction of the Teacher/Social Worker Develop and maintain an environment that is non-threatening, safe, nurturing, and where the students and their families feel respected, accepted, and welcome
- Utilize a school-wide positive behavior system in the management of group and student behaviors
- Implement de-escalation techniques and physical interventions, in accordance with safety care certification competencies without restriction, to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Communicate and work cooperatively with co-workers and students to meet student needs
- Assist teacher and/or social worker in developing and implementing behavioral modification system
- Assist with data collection and recordkeeping
- Assistance with the documentation of student, behavior, attendance, record maintenance, end-of-year reports, and other reports as required
- Attends meetings as directed by the program supervisor.
- Understand and adhere to all Intermediate Unit policies and procedures
- Adhere to legal and ethical standards in the provision of behavioral health and educational services
- Demonstrate cooperation and flexibility in performing other related duties as assigned
- Maintain a valid state driver’s license
- Maintains student and/or program confidentiality
- Maintain enrollment in coursework and/or credentialing program to earn special education teacher certification
- Meets all coursework requisites, passing grades, and credentialing requirements to successfully continue in the program
- Implement de-escalation techniques and physical interventions, in accordance with safety care certification competencies, to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Services is required
- Strong desire and motivation to work with children/youth with a behavioral health diagnosis
- A minimum of one-year experience working with children with behavioral challenges
- Previous experience as a Behavioral Health Worker is highly preferred
- Completion of the 40 hour RBT training is highly preferred. A free course can be found through Autism Partnership Foundation.
- Current clearances (within 6 months); Safety-Care certification is a plus
