    We are seeking a full-time direct hire Tech Support candidate to add to our growing team in Northville! The pay range for this role is $21.00-$25.00 per hour, based on experience.

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

    • Provide technical support via telephone and in person to distributors and customers.
    • Resolve technical issues and provide ongoing assistance with machine problem diagnosis in a professional and respectful way.
    • Provide on-call after-hours assistance on a rotating basis to distributors and owners.
    • Log all details of calls into database for tracking analysis.
    • Conduct training for new and existing distributors, service technicians and customers.
    • Create and develop training standards for Belanger products.
    • Travel to customer sites to troubleshoot and resolve equipment problems.
    • Provide on-site domestic and international distributor installation assistance.
    • Evaluate sites as requested to ensure installations are completed per contract specifications for major oil accounts.
    • Check sites to ensure field upgrades and product alerts have been implemented, and that preventive maintenance has been performed; provide feedback to Sales personnel regarding the quality of work performed by distributor technicians.
    • Communicate service, training, and quality issues raised by site managers and owners from the field.
    • Act with a sense of urgency, professionalism, and ownership with internal and external customer questions.
    • Assist the Parts Department with failure diagnosis, returned goods authorization, warranty replacement and order entry.
    • Handle Engineering Change Requests from problem definition to solution, including design, detailing, and basic engineering analysis.
    • Support R&D efforts by providing design input and participating in the design process through team participation.
    • Participate in the design verification process with both in-house and field-testing.
    • Support the rollout of products and provide performance feedback to the Lead Designer or Project Leader.
    • Learn the technical service requirements of new products and existing product undergoing significant change.
    • Service local machines used by R&D.
    • Assist with updating and creating service manuals as needed.
    • Support Belanger quality policy as a leader in providing cutting-edge technological advances in car wash equipment and car wash systems.

    SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Not applicable.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • A minimum of two years’ experience in technical services or related area is required.
    • Experience with machinery assembly is preferred.
    • Advanced working knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics, plumbing, and pumps is preferred.
    • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are required.
    • Computer proficiency in a Windows environment is required, preferably with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
    • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision both within the facility and while at job sites.
    • Must possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Professional telephone etiquette is required.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
    • Must present a professional demeanor and represent Belanger professionally at all times.
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

    QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
    • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to normal office conditions and usual office equipment like telephone, personal computer, reports and files. The employee will also be exposed to normal conditions of a manufacturing facility and wash bay. The employee will be regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee will be required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and climb or balance and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects up to 30 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds. When working on machinery, employee will bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis and constantly move about to coordinate work. The employee is required to regularly set up, adjust, assemble, control, test and operate machinery. Performing tasks while on a ladder may be required. Ability to operate a fork-truck or man-lift may be required
