    Job Title: Bell Staff

    Department: Front Office

    Reports To : Director of Front Office

    FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    Summary: Responsible for handling baggage for travelers at transportation terminals or for guests at hotels or similar establishments by performing the following duties.

    Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Transfers luggage, trunks, and packages to and from rooms, loading areas, vehicles, or transportation terminals, by hand or using baggage carts.*
    • Supplies guests or travelers with directions, travel information, and other information such as available services and points of interest.*
    • Receives and marks baggage by completing and attaching claim checks.*
    • Greets incoming guests and escorts them to their rooms.*
    • Assists physically challenged travelers and other guests with special needs.*
    • Acts as part of the security team at transportation terminals, hotels, or similar establishments.*
    • Delivers messages, room service orders, and runs errands for guests.*
    • Explains the operation of room features such as locks, ventilation systems, and televisions.*
    • Maintains clean lobbies or entrance areas for travelers or guests.*
    • Transports guests about premises and local areas, or arrange for transportation.*

    Language Ability:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Math Ability:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    Reasoning Ability:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Computer Skills:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of word processing software and spreadsheet.

    Education/Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
