MISSION STATEMENT:
Guiding children 18 months – 12 years old, Bellevue Montessori School develops an academically, socially, emotionally and culturally educated community of students within the framework of acceptance, compassion, and understanding, all in accordance with traditional Montessori curriculum and philosophy. We support each individual student in building a foundation for life-long learning in preparation for future educational endeavors.
Our school has been continuously growing since its opening in 1966. We are looking for assistant teachers to provide classroom support for Montessori Head Teachers who are guiding children in our Toddler, Early Childhood/Kindergarten, and Elementary Programs. Support would be demonstrated by preparing organized classrooms with beautiful materials, in a peaceful environment, designed to encourage children to explore and discover the joy of learning. TYPICAL DAILY TASKS INCLUDE:
Cleaning and sanitizing the classrooms and tools for learning
Following safety procedures and supervising children
Leading a group with stories, movement, songs, and other activities
Assisting with snack preparation
Engaging in conversation with children to increase their opportunities for language
Aiding children only if necessary, using Montessori method
Using positive discipline techniques to help students gain self-discipline and resolution skills

Demonstrate flexibility and consistency in your work ethic and history
Have experience observing children and have a background knowledge of the Montessori method.
Per our DCYF (Department of Children, Youth and Families) regulations regarding educators, we require that all employees complete a PBC (portable background check), fingerprinting, WA State Food Handler’s Permit, proof of MMR (Measles, mumps, and rubella)n and Covid-19 immunization and proof of a negative Tuberculosis skin test. If not yet completed, our team will gladly help walk you through these necessary steps.
