    Job Description

    Operations Manager Have you ever wished you could work for a small, close-knit, growing business?  Well now you can.  We're Belmont Nursery, a grower of trees, shrubs, & perennials supplying Central and Northern California, and we're looking for key employee to manage our operations.     Responsibilities: •    Oversee retail yard personnel in conjunction with the Retail Yard Manager; organize best use of daily manpower o    Meet daily with staff o    Plan daily picking schedule o    Distribute work lists o    Interview and hire as needed o    Physically assist when necessary •    Oversee loading and receiving dock in conjunction with the area Managers •    Manage truck driver team o    Assign loads and routes o    Track driver logs and hours o    Provide maps/directions as needed •    Oversee vehicle maintenance in conjunction with Lead Mechanic o    Fleet maintenance and fuel card usage •    Oversee facility projects and maintenance in conjunction with the Projects Coordinator Requirements: •    Strong leadership and team building skills.  •    Adept office management and communication skills with the ability to lead and motivate others.  •    Above average computer software experience, most notably with Microsoft Word and Excel. •    Ability to work in a fast paced, multi tasking environment.   •    Willingness to work alongside staff on common projects or tasks. •    Ability to work long hours during peak seasons, including early morning starting time. •    While not required, Spanish speaking is a plus.
