    A leading contract manufacturer of various snack food products located in Pittsburgh, PA is currently seeking an Engineering Manager. The position reports directly to the VP of Operations and is responsible for all engineering activities supporting a multi-site organization.

    Job Summary

    We are looking for an energetic and creative Engineering Manager to join our team. This is a great position for a candidate looking to make a significant impact in developing and growing a dynamic organization. The position will lead the engineering activities across multiple sites managing capital spend and execution of projects while continuing to build core engineering programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prioritize safety through leadership, work procedures and employee safety programs
    • Foster a collaborative working environment across all functions of the organization
    • Drive a continuous improvement mindset
    • Lead, manage and develop the engineering team ensuring they have the resources, skills and support required
    • Provide clear and active leadership to drive high standards of project execution
    • Prepare / review / approve capital budgets, contracts, cost savings estimates, project bids, project cost estimates, expense forecasts
    • Manage the capital program to improve the reliability of the manufacturing facilities, drives equipment reliability and delivers productivity savings
    • Work across all functions of the business to develop and maintain an active project pipeline
    • Research and analyze alternative equipment to improve the effectiveness of the overall manufacturing operation
    • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures for the engineering and technical work performed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
    • 3 - 5 Years’ Experience in a manufacturing facility
    • 1 - 3 Years’ Experience in a supervisory or management position
    • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and software systems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
    • Strong critical thinking skills: Must be able to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on their analysis
    • Experience and understanding in 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean, GE preferred
    • ERP / OEE system experience preferred
    • Creativity in developing new ways of working / methodology
    • Proficient in MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
