    A leading contract manufacturer of various snack food products located in Pittsburgh, PA is currently seeking a Manufacturing Manager. The position reports directly to the Director of Operations and will lead the operations activities for a 24 / 5 day manufacturing facility.

    Job Summary

    The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for day-to-day operations leading a team of Production Managers and Production Supervisors with a focus on safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics. The position works closely with all functions of the business to drive continuous improvement and ensure production goals are met.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prioritize safety through leadership, work procedures and employee safety programs
    • Foster a collaborative working environment across all functions of the organization
    • Hire, mentor, train and coach an innovative, data driven, team-oriented culture that is engaged and embraces continuous improvement
    • Lead the management and performance improvement of Key Performance Indicators relating to safety, quality, crewing, production to standards and yields
    • Lead overall Good Manufacturing Practices throughout the facility to maintain a safe and clean working environment
    • Collaborate with the Quality Department to ensure compliance to food safety programs and initiatives
    • Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to track and reduce downtime
    • Collaborate with production planning and materials management to optimize scheduled attainment and customer service
    • Initiate cost savings measures relating to crewing, standards, and yields
    • Report key financial metrics to standard
    • Prepare and submit operating reports to include safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics and recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness

    Qualifications

    • 5 - 7 years Manufacturing experience with 3 - 5 years Management / Supervisory experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Industrial Management, Engineering, Food Science, Management, Product Operations or equivalent field of study or equivalent experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
    • Strong critical thinking skills: Must be able to look at the numbers, trends, and data and come to new conclusions based on their analysis
    • Knowledge of BRC / SQF requirements
    • Strong maintenance background preferred
    • ERP / OEE system experience preferred
    • Experience and understanding in 6 Sigma, 5S, Lean, GE preferred
    • Creativity in developing new ways of working / methodology
    • Proficient in MS Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint
