    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Generalist partners with NorthEast Electrical to be the employer of choice in the New England States.  This role plays a vital part in recruiting for our logistics teams to keep our business fully operational.  They contribute to the success of our company by supporting people strategy initiatives, and they guide and administer HR services, policies, and programs to ensure an exceptional manager-associate experience.   

     

    • Assist with the recruitment efforts of the organization, focusing on operation roles such as warehouse and drivers. Responsible to review resumes, conduct phone screens, schedule interviews and be involved in the offer, pre-employment process and new hire orientation.

    • Assist Human Resources Director with Diversity and Inclusion efforts with regards to recruitment and talent development.

    • Responsible for submitting various payroll requests and managing the workflow and notification process of those requests.

    • Generate and prepare various HR reports for the Director as it relates to payroll, staffing, performance management.

    • Assist Director with various strategic initiatives such as retention, succession planning and talent development.

    • Provide support and advice on employee relations issues and activities, recommending courses of action; conferring with Director of Human Resources on disciplinary courses of actions.

    • Oversee current employee recognition program.

    • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, increase productivity, build morale, and retain our best talent.

    • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

    • Help ensure that locations are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations when implementing the application of HR practices. Assist with the research and development of employment policies and guidelines.

    • Participate in employee safety, wellness and health initiatives.

    • Exhibit sound judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential situations and information; help maintain a positive employee relations environment

    • Manage and resolve employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.

    • Conduct terminating employees offboarding and exit interviews, coordinating efforts with direct manager and Director of Human Resources.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A working knowledge of state and federal employment laws.
    • Strong Microsoft Office knowledge and experience
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information to all levels of management.
    • Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals.
    • 3+ years strategic HR Generalist
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources related area.
    • Familiarity with Human Capital Management Systems (SuccessFactors, WorkDay) is preferred
    • HCI - PHR / SHRM – PC credential is preferred
