JOB SUMMARY: This position has overall responsibilities for coordinating the implementation of plant safety/health programs and plant environmental compliance programs in support of corporate-wide guidelines, standards, and applicable regulations; providing on-site leadership, guidance and assistance to plant staff in achieving superior safety/health and environmental performance; and working closely with other team members for data collection for monthly environmental compliance requirements. They understand and align business operations and the Department as he/she executes their role to exceed customer expectations and align with GPI business, cultural, financial and operational objectives.
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE:
Manufacturing experience preferred
Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks and forklifts and clamp trucks preferred
Leadership skills – ability to motivate people to perform at high levels*

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s degree in safety/environmental science or related field and/or equivalent experience in a converting facility is preferred
Good understanding and working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental laws and regulations
Experience (3-5 years) in coordinating and developing safety/health and environmental programs.
Experience (3-5 years) in industrial safety, health protection, environmental protections and regulatory compliance.
