    The Surgery Aide performs daily turnover between cases, of surgical suites including walls, ceilings, floors, and all equipment. Orderlies transport patient beds and stretchers as necessary from and from patient areas to surgical suites and. Responsibilities include assisting with positioning and prepping of the surgical patient, stocking of supplies for the department, and handling and delivery of surgical specimens.  The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures, under the guidance and direction of the director, OR charge nurse, circulator and educator. The Surgical Orderly will follow all guidelines set forth by the AORN Standards and Practices. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    Required Experience

    • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
    • Current BLS card
    • Previous EVS experience a preferred
    • Previous OR experience preferred
