Job Purpose and Primary Objectives:
Benchmark Space Systems is looking for an experienced Test Engineer to support the testing activities of our small satellite propulsion systems. As part of the operations organization at Benchmark, this role works closely with the production, and engineering teams.
This is an on-site role at our headquarters in Burlington, Vermont.

With that said, there are primary job responsibilities and measurements of success for this position, which are:
- Creating, modifying, and reviewing test plans and procedures.
- Creating, modifying, and reviewing test fixture and test stand designs.
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in test process and workflow to increase efficiency and quality of internal and external deliverables.
- Documenting test results, procedural redlines, and authoring test reports.
- Generating Nonconformance reports to document nonconformances.
- Take direction and effectively balance multiple projects/workloads simultaneously.
- Proactively and regularly communicate status of assignments.
- Interface and collaborate with Program Management and members of other internal groups.
- At all times, maintain Benchmark's outstanding reputation for operating at the highest levels of honesty, integrity, accountability, and transparency.
Required Qualifications:
- Be/become proficient in: Microsoft & Adobe Suite as well as possess the ability, agility, and can-do attitude to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and matrixed cross-functional environment.
- A passion for space technology and emerging ecosystems in and around current and future space activities.
Education and/or Experience:
- A bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering/scientific field of study.
- 5-10 years of experience in a testing environment or similar experience.
- Ability to work on ITAR (export-restricted) technologies (US Persons and previously authorized applicants only. BSS cannot sponsor a new ITAR authorization application).

Experience with:
- Laboratory test equipment, such as: thermal vacuum chambers, vibration testing systems, etc.
- Laboratory safety best practices.
- Epsilon 3 software experience.
- Common aerospace testing standards (SMC-S-016, GSFC-STD-7000B).
- Inventory management and material handling experience.
- Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and manuals.

**While performing duties of this job, the employee is working in a production environment and must possess the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally work for long periods of time while standing.
