    JOB SUMMARY:

    We are currently looking for a Maintenance Specialist to take over a Manager opening in our client's Mason, OH and Blue Ash, OH facilities. The right candidate will have the ability to multitask, drive change, and maintain a quality product while embodying the mission, vision, and values of our client. The position also serves as the key technical resource for the manufacturing and maintenance operations focusing on troubleshooting, identifying opportunity root cause, developing sustainable solutions for mechanical and electrical equipment issues, teaching the Maintenance and Operations Teammates and further developing their capabilities in the journey of preventative maintenance methodologies and practice.

    This role will lead the maintenance and reliability function for the plant and will be a key leader in supporting personnel safety, 5S methodology, developing and implementing a Total Preventative Maintenance program, Standards building, condition-based safety, plant layout, project management, department budgeting, cost savings initiatives, inventory control, safe equipment modifications with a multiyear vision of having a world-class reliability program and team.

    Will Report to the Mason Site Manager

    Travel – no more than 15% for specific project work related to the evaluation of un-utilized assets and rigging, moving, installing, commissioning, valuable assets from other sites to Cincinnati or North Carolina.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Direct day-to-day maintenance activities to ensure uptime goals are met

    Implement 5S methodologies + Safety for “6S” (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety)

    Establish Preventative Maintenance Program and implement an MRO system of your choosing that can tie back into company ERP

    Design crew shift models to be flexible and execute production requirements and PM’s

    Responsible for a departmental budget that is fiscally responsible, reported on and justified through the necessity for the betterment of the company, quality, and profitability.

    Develop and implement a comprehensive capital development strategy for both facilities.

    Directly supervises Team Members in Maintenance and Tool Repair departments. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.

    Ensure that good housekeeping and safe work practices are followed throughout the facility

    Clean shop areas daily, including spare parts room and offices

    Provide support and leadership in troubleshooting equipment

    Ensure all labor, parts, and work are reported daily through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

    Hires, trains and maintains a competent workforce within allotted budgets. Motivates and develops high morale while implementing company policies

    Reviews all maintenance employees, providing appropriate feedback and guidance in order to maintain a high level of professional capability

    Utilizes all maintenance personnel in the most efficient manner possible. Ensures that all safety issues or equipment breakdowns are addressed promptly and completely

    Manages the completion of maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules

    Designs and fully implements a work order system to ensure that all work requests are acted upon promptly

    Oversees the control of maintenance-related spare parts and supplies

    ORGANIZES AND MAINTAINS ALL MAINTENANCE AND EQUIPMENT RECORDS, DATA, INFORMATION, AND BLUEPRINTS

    Maintains all buildings, grounds, and utilities in safe working condition

    Provides labor and supervision for timely completion of special projects

    Makes recommendations to management on the replacement or upgrade of equipment, providing economic justifications as required

    Advises on the proper methods of equipment operation and routine maintenance

    Responsible for the programming of automated equipment.

    Installs, calibrates, operates and maintains automated equipment

    Repairs and maintains all mechanical equipment – servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts and equipment that operates primarily on the basis of mechanical principles

    Manage HVAC contracts, challenge vendors for service and cost improvements. Investigate savings within the building automation and controls space.

    Prepares budget and reports on adherence performance plans

    Provides technical support to Manufacturing, Purchasing and vendors to analyze and address quality issues

    Provides technical support to Manufacturing, Sales, and Product Engineering regarding machine capability and new product feasibility

    Supports and assists with modifications to existing processes. Establishes new manufacturing processes as required

    Assists in the development of SOP's, line standards, manufacturing costs, analyses and implementation of new products into manufacturing

    Investigates, recommends and implements changes in manufacturing to improve safety, quality, capacity and productivity

    Conducts time studies, method analysis and ergonomic analysis upon requests

    Designs workstations, cell, and department layouts

    Other job duties as required

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    4-year Technical Degree preferred

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

    Experience in robust reliability system building

    Process Safety Management Experience

    Electrical & PLC experience

    Minimum of 5 years of maintenance management experience evaluating existing systems and implementing continuous improvements in a plant

    Strong collaboration, influence, and change management skills

    Excellent team and cross-team building capabilities

    Experience in project management and planning with strong written and verbal communication skills

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    Lean Manufacturing training and application experience in manufacturing

    Six Sigma Black Belt and/or Lean Expert Certification

    Multi-site continuous improvement leadership experience in one of the process industries (consumer goods, textile, commodity, etc.)

    Experience managing productivity/ cost savings programs and delivering on savings targets

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

    • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to regularly reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • Hand Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for use of tools for complex and repetitive movements in the use of hand tools and maintaining equipment
