Our client is looking for an experienced Benefits Account Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day relationship and service needs for an assigned book of Employee Benefits clients.
In this role, you’ll be the person clients rely on to keep things moving. You’ll coordinate closely with Benefits Consultants, Client Executives, and internal service teams to manage renewals, resolve issues, communicate industry changes, and ensure clients receive the level of service they expect. Your Role
- Manage the day-to-day needs of an assigned Employee Benefits book of business.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and provide guidance on benefit-related service needs.
- Develop proactive client relationships through regular communication and meetings.
- Partner with Benefits Consultants and/or Client Executives throughout the renewal process.
- Coordinate responsibilities and delegate assignments across internal service team members.
- Manage client questions, issues, and complex service deliverables from initial request through resolution.
- Conduct client needs analyses and strategy discussions.
- Help clients evaluate opportunities to control costs while maintaining competitive benefit offerings.
- Lead or participate in enrollment meetings as needed.
- Meet regularly with clients to discuss priorities, service needs, and benefit program developments.
- Educate clients on relevant industry trends, changes, and emerging concerns.
- Assist with Form 5500 filings when applicable.
- Identify appropriate cross-sell opportunities that can provide additional value to clients.
- Provide leadership and direction within the extended client service team.
- Maintain organization and accountability across multiple client priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
Experience & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Employee Benefits account management or a consultative benefits role required.
- Previous experience with an insurance brokerage/agency or benefits administration firm required.
- Current Life & Health insurance license required.
- Thorough knowledge of health and ancillary benefit products.
- Ability to manage client relationships at both the service and strategic levels.
- Strong understanding of the needs and expectations associated with complex accounts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and ability to collaborate effectively with an extended service team.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products required.
- Familiarity with benefits quoting processes and tools preferred.
- Experience with database applications is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
