    Job Description

    This is a hybrid role in Perrysburg, Ohio.

    This position is accountable for the daily administration and support of various benefits to ensure compliance with O-I’s Guiding Principles, employee engagement and satisfaction, and regulatory compliance for employees in the US and Canada. Benefit program responsibilities may include: COBRA and HIPAA, active and retiree health and welfare programs, qualified and nonqualified pension plans, disability administration, new-hire orientations, voluntary programs, invoice and claim payment and reconciliation, invoicing/billing, absence management, and special projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist HR community, active and retired employees, beneficiary populations and others (i.e. Finance, Legal, Vendors) with resolution of benefit related inquiries, issues, questions and concerns.
    • Communicate policies and research plan participant issues.
    • Monitor qualified pension plan payouts and distributions.
    • Assist with administration of nonqualified pension plans
    • Complete transactional enrollments and eligibility administration for NA health and welfare plans; eligibility file updates, open enrollment activities and orientation meetings.
    • Assure proper administration of outsourced COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA and disability.
    • Assist and finalize the administration of death claim process.
    • Process and maintain enrollment records for active, COBRA and retiree populations.
    • Provide timely and accurate entry and maintenance of member health plan documents including status changes, retirement, disability and qualified life event verifications.
    • Assist with the annual benefit enrollment process including preparing employee communication and enrollment materials, vendor coordination and eligibility updates.
    • Maintain knowledge base on current Employee Benefit trends, legislation and tax issues; coordinates implementation of mandated changes as needed.
    • Assist with financial functions for health and welfare plans including process accounts receivable payments, benefit payments and deductions.
    • Audit to ensure timely and accurate entry and maintenance of member health plan documents including status changes, retirement, disability and qualified life event verifications.
    • Maintain paper, electronic, and project file organization.
    • Follow and update documentation of policies, procedures, checklists and guidelines
    • Additional duties as assigned.​​​​​​​
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Two (2) to five (5) years related benefits or employee benefit administration experience required.
    • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, HIPAA, PPACA, Medicare, Social Security and DOL requirements.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and phone communication skills.
    • Proficient at a user level in MS Word and Excel for Windows.
    • HRIS experience preferred.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and under general supervision.
    • Ability to work as part of a team.

    Additional information

    Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $65,000 annually. Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
