The Benefits Consultant II will provide support to the Engage PEO Sales, Sales leadership team, and broker referral distribution channel on activities related to the marketing, sales, and service of employee benefit plans for clients and prospects. This position actively supports assigned Engage PEO Sales leadership in soliciting new PEO business and agency-led new business initiatives. It also provides mentoring and partnership to Benefit Operations, Service Center, Implementation, and Account Management.

    Essential Duties and Job Requirements:

    • Primarily responsible for directing the benefits strategy for a team of salespeople, their brokers, and prospects
    • Develop and execute a sales strategy consistent with the agency’s profitability and persistence targets, product/segment requirements, underwriting goals, and individual client needs. This includes anticipating prospect needs and taking proactive steps to advance the relationship
    • Strategize with sales, prospects, and implementation to ensure a positive implementation and long-term benefit strategy that supports the client within the structure of the Engage systems and the tools available
    • Actively support assigned Sales leaders in developing new business opportunities for existing clients and prospects
    • Support pre-sale / finalist /onboarding activities in conjunction with other internal business partners
    • Assist with the development of cost analysis, spreadsheets, and preparation of proposals for prospective and existing accounts
    • Be responsible for timely and ongoing adjustments to the original benefits proposal and for monitoring Underwriting sign-off for assigned accounts Act as the primary benefits liaison through implementation

    Other Duties & Responsibilities

    • Stay knowledgeable of market dynamics, including PEO competitors (i.e., players, products, provisions, and philosophy) to be able to position Engage competitively and by leveraging our core value proposition and competencies
    • Keep Sales, Sales Leaders, Referring Brokers, and the Benefits Operations team informed of all product updates, market changes, regulatory dynamics as needed.
    • Educate the new business clients on the initial onboarding benefits enrollment experience
    • Support internal teams during the annual benefits renewal process for assigned clients working in collaboration with the Account Management team, Benefit Operations team and Underwriting, engaging other business partners as appropriate
    • Work with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvement for the benefit of individual clients and the broader customer base, as well as Engage overall processes
    • Participate in special projects that support the agency’s organizational needs

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
    • Minimum 4 years relevant work experience in health benefits
    • Professional Employer Organization (PEO) experience is preferred with experience supporting master policy growth
    • Proficient with MS Office including Microsoft EXCEL and PowerPoint,
    • ClientSpace, Prism and SharePoint skills preferred
    • Must possess FL Health insurance license (215) or obtain within 6 months of hire date
    • Working knowledge of the Health Insurance industry across all coverage lines; Health, Life Disability, Dental, and Vision plans and familiarity with ACA and compliance, preferred

    COMPENSATION:

    The salary range for this position is listed below. However, you should know that the salary range may vary based on regional location, the candidate’s skill, and relevant experience. In addition, some positions may include a form of bonus or other incentive compensation, which would not be included in this salary range.

    Annual Salary Range: $90,000-$95,000
