Job Title: Benefits Coordinator – Level 1 (Entry Level)

Position Summary
Consolidated Personnel Services (CPS), a leading Professional Employer Organization (PEO), is seeking a Level 1 Benefits Coordinator to support our Benefits Department.
This is an entry-level role focused on accuracy, responsiveness, and foundational benefits administration tasks. The position is responsible for assisting with day-to-day benefits operations, data entry, and employee support while learning core systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Data Support
- Enter and maintain employee benefits data in internal systems
- Process routine updates such as new hires, terminations, and changes
- Ensure documentation is complete and filed accurately
- Assist with tracking eligibility and enrollment information
Employee & Client Support
- Respond to basic employee and client inquiries via phone and email
- Provide general guidance on benefits enrollment and coverage
- Escalate complex issues to Level 2 or Lead staff
- Maintain professional and timely communication standards
Operational Support
- Assist with onboarding paperwork related to benefits enrollment
- Support open enrollment preparation and execution
- Help coordinate documentation with carriers and vendors
- Perform general clerical tasks (data entry, document processing, tracking logs)
Department Support
- Follow established SOPs and workflows with a focus on accuracy over speed
- Support team members with administrative tasks as needed
- Maintain compliance with internal processes and guidelines
Level 1 Role Definition at CPS
This role is classified as a Level 1 / Individual Contributor , meaning:
- Focus is on task execution and accuracy (not decision-making)
- Work is performed under direct supervision
- Responsible for own output only , not cross-department coordination
Growth Path
This role is designed as a development pipeline position :
- Level 1 → Level 2 Benefits Coordinator → Lead/Advisor roles
- Progression based on accuracy, independence, and system mastery

Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, data entry systems)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- 1+ years of administrative or customer service experience
- Experience in HR, payroll, or benefits (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with insurance or PEO environments
