  • Responsibilities

    The Daily Wire is looking for an IT Technician to join our growing production team in Nashville, TN. The IT Technician will work closely alongside the Broadcast Engineer to act as the team's point of contact in troubleshooting all in-house technical issues and efficiently manage all digital content of the company. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of previous experience, is a team player, and possesses high-level organizational skills.     RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems
    • Act as a point of contact for troubleshooting in-house technical issues
    • Understand internal workflows and each team's responsibilities
    • Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
    • Build and configure computers for new and existing employees
    • Manage server filing system and naming conventions
    • Ensure the back-up and security of digital assets
    • Ensure all corresponding content is properly linked to the tracking system
    • Assist in the technical aspects of running podcasts
    • Support IT department in on-boarding new employees with computers, needed programs, and any other needed hardware
    • Assist with organizational and project-related tasks as needed
    • Assist in the installing and upkeep of IT-related hardware across the office
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

    • 2+ years of previous work experience in IT or similar field
    • Experience in new media streaming and broadcasting field
    • In-depth knowledge of RTMP and other streaming protocols preferred
    • Knowledge and understanding of digital media streaming and broadcasting
    • High-level organizational skills
    • Mac/PC troubleshooting skills
    • Software/hardware troubleshooting skills
    • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocols
    • Strong understanding of computer systems, network printers, and mobile devices
    • Ability to diagnose, resolve and create reports on technical issues
    • Able to assist with product testing
    • Phone system knowledge a plus
    • IT certification a plus
    • Some systems admin experience a plus
    • Ability to successfully maintain multiple ongoing projects at once
    • Knowledge of digital media including codec, image types, resolutions, and frame rates a plus
    • Skills in converting, transcoding, and compression a plus

    ADDITIONAL DETAILS: 

    • REPORTS TO: Director of Production
    • START DATE: Immediate
    • EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time; Exempt
    • COMPENSATION: $25-$30/hr; Dependent upon experience
    • BENEFITS: Health insurance options (medical through Anthem; dental and vision through Guardian); Paid Time Off; 401k (5% match)
