An Investigative Journalist for The Daily Wire investigates, documents and reports on original, relevant and important stories. The journalist works under the direction of the Editor-in-Chief and in coordination with other members of the editorial staff to produce and promote the reports in an effective and impactful manner.                                

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Produce original written copy of investigative pieces for The Daily Wire based on stories assigned or approved by Editor-in-Chief or authorized Editors.
• Conduct in-depth research on assigned or approved stories to obtain original, factual information and ensure accuracy.
• Take direction on content and style from Editor-in-Chief or authorized Editors.
• Edit, revise, and review content before publishing.
• Submit material in a timely manner for publication in the required and expected format.
• Follow journalistic standards for proper citation, paraphrasing, quotation and use of copyrighted material.
• Potentially report on stories in on-camera news media interviews or other video formats.
• Provide regular updates to authorized Editors on ongoing investigations and content.
• Coordinate with other members of the editorial staff as necessary to produce and promote reports.
• Develop and maintain contacts important to journalistic inquiries. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:

• Excellent command of written English
• A high-level understanding of journalistic writing
• Competency with devices, software and platforms necessary for journalistic writing and online communication
• Motivation and self-discipline to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work on tight deadlines
• Creativity and an “original voice”
• Knowledge of the political editorial landscape and of the audience of our publication
• Ability to accept criticism and feedback and use it in a constructive way
• Commitment to represent the company and supervisors in a demonstrated positive and respectful fashion with staff, clients, contractors, and other partners, internal and external

• COMPENSATION: $60k-85k (dependent on experience)
